 How to get there

You have made this First Annual Get Up & Go Health and Fitness Campaign such a huge success that we just feel the need to Celebrate!  So Saturday, May 10th, the campus of Belleville West High School and adjoining Ravissant Winery will play host to a great celebration of Health, Fitness and Community.  The day will begin with the 2008 Race for Character registration at 8:45 am (race at 9:30) and will continue with a health and fitness fair, including activities for young and old, fitness demonstrations, awards and give-aways.  At 2:30pm the World Harmony Run Torch Relay will arrive with a torch carried through all 50 states by runners.  They will make a short presentation and everyone is encouraged to join in and become part of our shared goal - Connecting Communities.  After seeing the runners off, we can all  wind down with a live band and relaxation at the Ravissant Winery.

So whether you have been with us from the beginning, logging your miles and counting your calories, or are just thinking of getting active now, join us for this fun filled day.  There will be something for everyone; from a climbing wall and activities for the kids, yoga and martial arts demonstrations, fitness and exercise training, free tennis instruction from the pros, healthy cooking demonstrations, free massage and health screening, even free pet health screening (heart, fleas and weight) and activities for your pets.  Kids can take a 'shot-on-goal' with the St. Louis Blues or compete in fun activities for prizes.  Dozens of partners and sponsors have donated attendance prizes and there will be drawings throughout the day.

There will be loads of food and refreshments with something for everybody. Spontaneous acts of fitness are encouraged, so bring your ball, tennis racquet  or frisbee, great biking and walking areas are available, and pets are welcome. In the afternoon there will be a live band, provided by Ravissant Winery and people are encouraged to enjoy the Winery grounds, picnic, and just enjoy their hospitality.
