Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of the organization’s officers, the immediate past president, and representative from St. Clair County Health Department. The committee considers urgent organizational matters or defines issues to be considered by the full board.

Schools & Youth Committee

The purpose of the Schools & Youth Committee is to lead policy and environmental change through relationship building with local schools. Currently this committee is focusing on three goals:

Establish criteria for local schools to qualify as a Get Up & Go School.Promote local school activities that promote health and wellbeing to its students and communitiesEstablish relationships and offer support to local school’s wellness committees

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee plans for and oversees the operation of electronic and print media for Get Up and Go. This includes the website, social media, electronic newsletter, and promotional materials. The committee also coordinates the table display where Get Up & Go has an official presence.

Community / Neighborhoods Committee

The Community / Neighborhoods Committee works with neighborhood and municipal leaders to help build communities where people have access to healthy foods and opportunities to live active lifestyles. The committee supports neighborhoods interested in being designated as Get Up & Go Neighborhoods by: guiding assessment of current environmental / policy conditions, prioritizing areas for improvement, searching for grant funding or other sources of support, pairing with other partners, and providing guidance/training on evidenced-based interventions.

Worksite Committee

The Worksite Committee collaborates with employers to promote and support employee efforts to eat healthy foods and live healthy lifestyles. The committee assists workplaces interested in being designated as Get Up & Go worksites by guiding assessment of current environmental / policy conditions, prioritizing areas for improvement, pairing with other partners, and providing guidance/training on evidenced-based interventions.

Faith-based Committee

The Faith-based Committee collaborates with faith leaders to promote faith settings and events that are conducive to healthy eating and active lifestyles by assessing the environment, prioritizing areas for improvement, searching for sources of funding, pairing with other partners, and providing guidance/training on evidenced-based interventions.

Resource Development Committee

The Resource Development Committee helps plan for and secure financial and non- financial resources for Get Up & Go. Financial resources include securing donations, preparing grants and contracts, and organizing fund-raising events.

Non-financial resources include recruiting new board members, specialists, and other volunteers. The committee also oversees preparation of the annual report.
